    Abstract: 這是呂炳川教授當時所拍攝的一張知本部落的家屋景觀。知本部落位於台東市的南方，是卑南族最南邊的一個聚落。卑南族分佈於台東縣卑南鄉，共分為八個社，包括知本村、建和村、利嘉村、泰安村、檳榔村、美農村、初鹿村、南王村、溫泉村。昔稱「八社番」。人口集中在台東縣，其中以台東市比例最高；其次是卑南鄉。
