    Abstract: 照片當中是三位花蓮縣秀林鄉水源村的泰雅族人。水源村居民屬於太魯閣族群，照片當中的長老，上額跟下巴都有刺青，表示他們經過了傳統的洗禮。泰雅族人的紋面是成年的表徵，男子必須要在戰場、打獵時有英勇的表現與成績之後才能紋面；而女性則是紋在額頭與臉頰兩側，代表著她是一位善於織布、理家的嫻淑女性。
