This thesis, based upon the core concepts of symbolic interaction theory, interaction, symbols and roles, focused on women tourism employees in Hokkaido, Japan, and try to grasp their views on Taiwanese travelers they encountered. The thesis concluded that these women considered Taiwanese travelers gentle, arrogant, anxious and active, and these aspects have both positive and negative assessments. Besides, the differences between the temperament, character and gesture of travelers from Taiwan and other countries are revealed in the thesis. In conclusion, the key factors that cause the women tourism employees’ double assessments include their past Taiwanese imagination, countries preference, and comparison on travelers from different countries. In additions, the occasions where the encounter taken place, and unexpected incidences during the trips affected the women tourism employees’ assessments too.
