Parents always anticipate that their children will grow up to be outstanding and successful in the future. Therefore, the function of family education is replaced by various cram schools developing the children’s different talents and skills under the society that everything only emphasizes the intensive effect. However, Child Classics-reciting education stresses that children must memorize and read aloud the Classics before the school age. Because the children are too young to study by themselves, parents have to help them with the Classics-reciting. As a result, the relationship between parents and their children become closer and closer. By observing and participating in three Classics-reciting classes in Chiayi, the author finds that the Community Classics-reciting class encourages parents to accompany and study with their children without any fees because it hopes to promote Child Classics-reciting activity through parent and child shared reading. At the same time, children’s potential development in learning can be built up. However, the study shows that most of the families which take part in the Classics-reciting classes hope that the atmosphere of Classics-reciting can be cultivated by schools. In this way, it is not only more efficient but also provides a place to edify other children. Furthermore, the various problems derived from Taiwan Education Reforms can be solved. Only when the Classics-reciting programs are implemented under the school education, Child Classics-reciting education can be really developed from childhood and influences the people’s ways of thinking. Then, the cultural heritage can be handed down. The author believes that the effect of Classics-reciting will be multiplied if School Education is combined with Family Education and Social Education to push Classics-reciting forward, to regard it as a whole people’s activity and to lead every child to love studying. Focusing on three Community Classics-reciting classes in Chiayi, the study makes a social observation about child classics-reciting education and starts a related literature review. Qualitative Inquiry with personal participation and observation, in-depth interviews and Case Study are adopted for data analysis in this study. In the next chapter, the study discusses the specific results of the child classics-reciting education and expresses the hope for the schools to implement the classics-reciting courses. Besides, the discussions and reflections on the child-reciting education are proposed in this study, too. Finally, the study generalizes that child classics-reciting education has a great effect upon the child’s potential development. If children accept the classics-reciting education since their childhood, it is helpful to hand the cultural heritage down. The study also makes suggestions for future related research and promotion of child classics-reciting education.
