    摘要:   龍是中國人尊貴而奇特的吉祥物,它們捲起的蛇身、昂起的駝首、突起的兔眼、魚鱗、牛耳、鷹爪、虎掌、鹿角、蜃腹,其身影大量地出現在帝王器物與民間廟宇。它們不是祭祀的主神卻佔據廟宇明顯的位置,成為寺廟建築中不可或缺且具有積極價值的重要角色。    本論文試圖解釋龍意象及其應用源由,以文獻探討與田野調查等方法,蒐集分析龍裝飾藝術的演變,由山海經與龍生九子等神話龍探討,論及龍之分類,再佐以歷代應用在器物與建築上的龍紋為證,探討中國建築與繪畫之龍形風格,對照台灣寺廟中龍裝飾題材的表現形式、位置分析及題材根據,探知龍紋造型依其時代更迭演變之證據及寺廟中龍形的表現形式。    台南大天后宮中的龍意象及應用主要源於中國大陸,其龍形裝飾應用也發展出獨立特色,並發現到龍的形態在寺廟裡不會以單一樣貌出現,龍形大小不拘、形態多變,樣式活潑,龍可置於屋脊,可立於柱,飾以托木,雕於斜魁,螭龍團爐等各種型態在同一空間展現,理解到寺廟中龍裝飾藝術背後所隱含之空間美學思考、時代傳承及所蘊含的積極價值與功用,這篇論文便是對以上的特點加以著墨分析,希望形成台灣的龍學系統探討。    內文共分六部分:第一章為緒論;第二章探討古代龍形的起源、種類與造型;第三章探討寺廟中龍之表現、位置及題材分析;第四章為台南大天后宮之龍形意象、第五章為台南大天后宮之龍形應用的實例討論;第六章為結論。
      The dragon is the Chinese honored and the unusual mascot figure, they curl up the snake body, raises hunchbacked, breaks out exempts the eye, the scale, the ear, the eagle claw, the arisaema heterophyllum, the antler, shen the abdomen, its form appears massively utensil and the folk temple in the king. They are not sacrificial offering's Lord actually occupy the temple obvious position, becomes in the temple construction the indispensable strong character.    This thesis attempts to explain the dragon image and the application source by , by methods and so on literature discussion and field study, collection analysis dragon decorative art evolution. And the dragon decoration theme takes the case study by the Tainan Grand Matsu Temple. The ascertainment dragon grain modelling alternates the evolution according to its time, and in Taiwan temple the dragon shape decoration application develops the independent characteristic, and discovered the dragon shape will not appear in the temple by the sole appearance, the dragon shape size will not arrest, the shape to be changeable, the style will be lively, understands in the temple behind the dragon decorative art space of esthetics concealment to ponder, the time inheritance and will contain positive value and function.    The thesis is divided six parts: The first chapter is the introduction; The second chapter discussion ancient times dragon shape origin, type and modelling; The third chapter discusses in the temple performance, the position and the theme analysis the dragon; the fourth part is the dragon shape image in Tainan Grand Matsu Temple; the fifth chapter is the dragon of shape application in Tainan Grand Matsu Temple example discussion ; the sixth chapter is the conclusion.
