阿里山花季與陽明山並稱為台灣南北兩大花季，阿里山地處嘉義縣東部，海拔2174公尺，與嘉義市相隔75公里之遙。因地形阻隔之天然環境因素，加上高山氣候多變，阿里山花季的「距離、氣候」便成為影響旅遊的重要因素。 「漫步在雲端」（alishan.cyc.edu.tw）自1996年6月25日架站以來，便以影像記錄阿里山的自然美景與各項旅遊資訊，透過台灣學術網路遠距的非商業旅遊記錄觀點，忠實呈現阿里山的自然之美。 以主題導覽解說為阿里山花季的旅遊資訊網站建置，是「漫步在雲端的阿里山」每年的網站資訊提供重點。每年的阿里山花季自3月15日起至4月15日止，從環境勘查、影像文字記錄，接著進行電腦端的數位影像處理、網站內容更新等，以近乎即時的現場報導為主。「花言巧語」為阿里山的櫻花介紹，「花枝招展」為櫻花盛開的圖文現況，「花花世界」為阿里山的十大賞花步道，「賞花日誌」以即時觀察記錄還原現場實景，「花邊新聞」為媒體新聞的相關整理，「花季之最」則是各種櫻花、賞景的精選，「電子相簿」以大量的數位影像呈現花季的主題。最後，本研究以網站主題導覽提出建議，作為阿里山花季旅遊行程規劃及導覽的參考。 Cherry blossom season at Alishan and Yangmingshan are the two great flower seasons in Taiwan. The Alishan area is situated in east of Chiayi County, it's altitude is about 2174 meter and 75 km away from Chiayi City. Because of terrain impediment factors and changeable climate on the mountain, the distance and climate then become the important attribute which affected travel quality in Alishan. The website Walking on the cloud (alishan.cyc.edu.tw) was set up since June 25, 1996. This website used digital media to recorded natural scenery of Alishan and it also provided all kinds of travel information. Based on educational purpose and non-commercial viewpoint, Walking on the cloud are faithfully presents the natural beauty of Alishan. The main purpose of Walking on the cloud website is to provide tourism guide and information for cherry blossom season. Every year, cherry blossoms are usually in full bloom from mid-March to mid-April. Started with environment reconnoiter, images and writing record, then digital process into the computer and website update, the entire process tend to like live report from the scene. In the website categories, (talk of cherry blossoms) is an introduction for the cherry blossoms of Alishan. (Dressed of cherry blossoms) is an images and writing report for cherry blossoms, (World of cherry blossoms) is an introduction of Top 10 flower viewing trails, (Diary of cherry blossoms) is a live observation and record for cherry blossoms, (News of cherry blossoms) is a news categories which relate with cherry blossoms, (Top of cherry blossoms) is a special selection of cherry blossoms and viewing sites, (Digital album) is an album with tons of cherry blossoms images. In the end, this research puts forward the proposal by the website subject survey, as reference for traveling schedule and tourism guide.
