The study aims to explore the correlation between the personality of disadvantaged learners and their achievement of some definite subjects. The Holland Personality Types Scale is used to test the subject of the study in a senior high school in Chiayi, and 645 students respond to the test in a efficient way. The collected data are analyzed by descriptive statistics, test of the independent sample t, Pearson product-moment correlation, and so on. The results are as follows: 1. as a whole in choosing the six types of personality, the disadvantaged senior high school learners opt for the Social type the most. The Artistic type occupies the second highest percentage. And the Realistic type is the one which gets the lowest percentage. 2. there is a high connection between sex and the personality of Realistic type, Investigative type, Artistic type, Social type, and Conventional type. Most males tend to be Realistic type of personality, while females are more likely to have the personality of Investigative type, Artistic type, Social type, and Conventional type. As for the Enterprising type of personality, there seems to be little relation between it and sex. 3. there is a high correlation between sex and learning achievement. Female students perform better than male ones in subjects like Chinese, English, Social Science, Science, and Art. However, for the subject of math, the correlation is found to be small. 4. a high correlation is found between personality types and learning achievement. There exists a negative correlation between personality of Realistic type and learning achievement of English and math. And there is a positive correlation between personality of Investigative type and learning achievement of Chinese, English, Social Science, and Science. As to the correlation between personality of Artistic type and leaning achievement of math, a negative one is found, and so does the one between personality of Enterprising type and learning achievement of Chinese. For the personality of Conventional type, a positive correlation is found to exist between it and the learning achievement of Chinese, English, Social Science, Science, and Art. However, as for the correlation between personality of Social type and achievement of each subject, no obvious one is found.
