With the continuous development of the global internet, the number of websites is increasing rapidly. The most important issues for website designers are: which websites will be readily accepted, and which will satisfy and be found to be ‘user friendly’ by service users. This study was based on a ‘Web Acceptance Model’, of which there are four aspects: ease of use, usefulness, the students’ attitude (to the new website) and the students’ intentions. In addition, this study evaluated the influence of users’ intentions and requirements, in order to understand their level of acceptance and satisfaction. The question of improving the quality of websites will be referred to in the future. This study involved (only) the students of the department of Information Management at Nanhua University, and used questionnaires as the methodological tool. The findings indicated that there were significant differences between men and women concerning the use of the website. In some answers, married and non-married users showed significant differences. Also, the amount of time users spent on the internet per week showed significant differences. Full-time and part-time Master’s degree students differed in their level of acceptance and requirements to undergraduates and evening class students. All four aspects above also had major significance for correlational analysis. In addition, the results of the path analysis agreed with the WAM path analysis, perhaps partly because the experience of using the departmental website also agreed with the results of the WAM. Overall, the results of the questionnaires demonstrated widespread satisfaction among service users in these four aspects. In conclusion, the homepage of the website could be made even more ‘user friendly’ and requires constant updating with new resources.
