The principle of this article is to interpret Zhang Xuecheng’s thinking in Dao and the style of his scholarly research originated from Dao. Zhang Xuecheng indicated Dao can not completely expressed by the Six Classics, it developed by time and became obvious and firm. For presuming Dao, one must start from human ethics as well as daily lives, it is initiative, changeable, expansible, objective, and contemporary. Otherwise, we have to study the Six Classics to find Dao, we should not only study through textual research, but also have to have our own views.
