儒家心學對於易理的探討自始便相當熱衷,從陸象山開始,每一位心學家皆感興趣於探討《周易》的義理,「心即易,易即心」、「心為易之原」是他們的共同宗旨。但大部分探討的內容均集中在卦爻辭之意義解說,有關易圖原理的解說少有人論及。嘗試討論這方面議題的心學家,王畿是其中之一,他有數篇專文嘗試解析《河圖》、《洛書》的宇宙論意涵;明末劉宗周也有關於這方面的闡述,但二人的說明仍嫌簡略,唯明代中葉的心學家萬廷言紹承陽明後學「歸寂派」之心學義理,以反復未發之中為宗,退藏於密則是他解《易》的通則,於《河圖》、《洛書》、五行等有深刻的剖析與研究,甚能將易數、五行生剋及方位變動與心學結合起來,成功論證出心體果為宇宙氣化之根源。 The mind-heart schools of Confucianism really liked to study from Lu, Xiang-Shan beginning, everyone was interested in exploring the principle of Yi-Jing, and their experiences all tended “Heart is Yi, and Yi is heart too” “Heart is the source of Yi dao” this purpose, but most researches of these mind-heart scholars had focused on the explanations of diagrams and yaos, there were few people discussed the principle of the pictures of Yi-Jing.Those people who tried to discuss this subject included Wang Ji, he had some articles to explain the meaning of cosmology, Liu Zongzhou had done just as Wang Ji. However, these two scholars’ explanations still too sketchy, only Wan, Tingyan has deep analysis and research to the principle of the pictures of Yi-Jing.
