No matter how different the demands and styles are, the shape of a buildings will be affected by the culture impact, social changes and other processes, which occurred at the time. The different language of architypes were the outcome base on those diversity. Even if there is some degree of conflict with the original vernacular type, most people will still choose to adapt the non-rooted form and gradually integrate it into the normal state of life. The preservation of old buildings aims to preserve the spirits of space (genius locci), which generated the architectural culture and artistic paradigms and formed in the different periods of time. With that historical process, the building can continue to describe different pasts, and the tangible & intangible culture can be passed down for generations. The space design techniques and means of the construction can be adjusted to accommodate the changes that have evolved in the future. However, after the restoration of the buildings of different eras, they were added to the mainstream of commercial and too homogenous elements. It is expected that the activation of space will be greatly expanded. When the original function of the building is no longer turned to the new function of the alternative, is the question of the historical truth retained, is it cultural connotation, or is it simply the empty shell of the old house? From 2008, the "Old House, New Life" began to bring up the old house space reuse plan, mainly initiated by the construction-related background people, and let the government began to notice the important roll of the old historical house. With this project background, it encourage me the further model study. After learning from the two cases of the Nan-Jian Community in the Wu-qi District of Taichung City and he No. 389 in the old prison dormitory of Chia-Yi City, the participation and the change of the activation pattern in the restoration process can be used as a reference for the subsequent restoration plan. Direction, let more people with basic support, encourage residents, let residents see the importance of home resources; government departments can truly understand the importance of local culture and provide a more convenient communication channel to understand the needs of residents and are willing to provide care and assistance in a timely and regular manner. It is expected that there will be more in-depth discussion on the issue of reuse of old houses, and try to refer to the meaning of different practices in the further case process.
