Nowadays, pet keepers treat their own pets like a person in a personalized way, and see the pets as important as family. Therefore, pet keepers used to seek professional pet funeral workers to manage the things after their pets die. However, rarely people knows exactly what pet needs, so the ritual is usually going to be personified. What are the appropriate and rationalities in the personalized way in pets funerals? The study aimed to seek its solutions and answers through using “in-depth interview” and “participant observation” as the qualitative research methods for collecting data. 9 participants are selected by purposive samplings: 3 participants of each groups by Pet funeral workers, Pet-death experienced keepers and Pet-death inexperienced keepers. It used “Thematic Analysis” to summarize and analyze the verbatim texts of the interviews systematically, eventually, to conclude the conclusions and suggestions of this study. The study conclusions are as follows:1. As there is no exclusive and specific pet funeral ritual, the pet funeral should imitate and make as a simplification of a formal funeral, parts of the processes should be personalized within the needs of pet keepers accordingly.2. Pet funeral is less related with “ritual' but focusing on “cremation” and “to bury”, the main reasons of its difficulties are the incomplete and unimproved relevant laws.3. The pet keepers who have had the experiences of pet death would assigned the professional pet funeral workers to manage the ritual after pet die, but the keepers who haven't had the experiences would increase and enhance the ritual of emotional connections with the pets.4.Pet keepers considered the appropriate pet funeral practices make the care of pet remains a better way, and it could pacify keepers' soul.5.The pet funerals workers considered the way of pet funerals should be a simplified version of a formal funeral, to emphasize the moment of farewell and the companied process. Based on the above-mentioned, the suggestions are as follows: 1.The legislation of pet funerals industry should adopt the central formulated law specifically, it would standardize and give a clear way for the industries to follow as well.2.To offer the pet keepers services diversely, and to improve the quality.3.The farewell space should be decorated warmly, and to extend the time for the keepers and the pets on the farewell moment.4.The related associations of pet funeral should hold workshops or courses regularly for the workers to enhance and obtain the knowledge and skills.
