星雲大師至今(2017 年)在台灣弘法已超過六十年,其中1950-70年代(開端的二十年)可以說是最重要的奠基階段,從駐錫宜蘭雷音寺到創建佛光山,然後開始在海內外重要城市成立分別院。各項弘法方式的革新,讓「人間佛教」的理念得以傳揚開來,並獲得許多具體的實踐成果。而新製佛教歌曲,以提供歌詠隊、合唱團,甚至是共修法會演唱,使適應語文環境的白話歌詞,能搭配新時代的旋律,吸引廣大民眾,尤其是知識青年加入信眾組織,更是特別重要的事項。因此,本文將以星雲大師在1950-70 年代所創作的佛教歌詞,如收於1950 年代以來各版次《佛教聖歌集》的〈弘法者之歌〉、〈西方〉、〈祈求〉…甚至是兒童歌曲,還有1970 年代佛教電視節目主題曲〈甘露〉、〈信心門〉等作為基礎文本,確立其創作的時代與弘法背景,分析其作為凝聚教團力量、傳播佛教義理、導引心靈反思、強化信仰觀念、推動弘法多元化等方面的因緣、主題、內容、意義與影響力。顯現「星雲大師文學敘事的生命實踐與教化」對應在「音聲弘法」上的意義,也使星雲大師的歌詞創作,在現代佛教歌曲發展史上的地位與影響力,能夠清楚顯現出來,也為後續相關研究,提供階段性的成果與啟示。 Master Hsing Yun has done missionary work in Taiwan for more than sixty years until 2017. The first 20 years (1950s-70s) can be said to be the most important foundation stage. From hosting the Yilan Leiyin Temple to the creation of Foguang Mountain, he began to set up separate temples in major cities around the world. He carried out various innovations in the way of missionary work, so that the concept of "the Human Buddhism" was spread and many concrete practical achievements were obtained. The important thing is the new Buddhist songs, which provide the singing team, the choir, and even the singer to sing, so that the vernacular lyrics adapted to the Chinese environment can match the melody of the new era and attract the general public, especially the intellectual youth to join the believer organization. This article will use the Buddhist lyrics created by Master Hsing Yun in the 1950-70s as the main text. For example, "The Song of the missionary ", "Western", "Pray" which included in the "Buddhist Songs Collection". This article will analyze its creative causes, themes, and content. In particular, it is the meaning and influence of condensing the power of the Buddhist groups and spreading the principles of Buddhism. This research is related to the meaning of "Life Practice and Enlightenment of the Master Hsing Yun of Literary Narratives" in the "Song preaching" which have a status and influence in the history of the development of modern Buddhist songs.
