The article aims to explore the difference between Yi Toegye(李退溪) and Yi Yulgok(李栗谷)'s theory of “renxindoxin”(人心道心) and Zhu Zi(朱子)'s understanding of “renxindoxin”. Yi Toegye believes that the concept of renxindoxin can be compared with the “four buddings and seven feelings”(四端七情), while Yi Yulgok reinterprets the thought of renxindoxin, and puts forward the theory that “renxindoxin are the beginning and end.”However, the thoughts of “renxindoxin”in Yi Toegye and Yi Yulgok are different from what Zhu Zi understood, that is, Yi Toegye's renxindoxin will cause the problem of “two hearts”, but Zhu Zi's understanding of renxindoxin is only “one heart”; As for Yi Yulgok's renxindoxin as the beginning and end, although there is no problem of “two hearts”, because Yi Yulgok's renxindoxin cannot coexist, it may move towards “Asceticism.”This is contrary to the renxindoxin advocated by Zhu Zi Say.
