With the reform of education and the opening of textbooks by private publishers, different versions of textbooks coexist in the market, so the selection of textbooks has become an important task. In addition, the arrangement of the junior high school curriculum is based on the principle of the field. The social studies also includes three sections: history, geography, and citizenship, which are taught by three teachers of different specialties. Therefore, the selection of textbooks in the social studies is more complicated. This study is to explore the index factors for the selection of textbooks in the social studies of the junior high school. Because the selection of textbooks is essentially multi-level and multi-criteria decision-making, it is decided to use the Analytic Hierarchy Process as the research method of this thesis. The purpose of this study is to establish an evaluation form for textbooks in the social studies of the case. Through literature collection and expert consultation questionnaires, the index factors of textbook selection in the social studies of the junior high school are organized. There are four facets and sixteen evaluation criteria for the indicator factors. Analytic Hierarchy Process is used to conduct teacher opinion surveys in the social studies. As a result, it was found that the value of "content attribute" 0.5235 was the most important, followed by the value of "teaching attribute" 0.3464, and the "issuance attribute" and "physical attribute" were the least important. Among the sixteen evaluation criteria, "Difficulty of Content", "Emphasis on Learning Motivation and Interest", "Real Life Content", "Make Students Learn Critical Thinking", "Appropriate Content Component", "Achieve Teaching Objectives", and "Flexible Multi-activity Design" are the most important. According to the 20/80 rule, the seven evaluation criteria are a total of 80%. These seven criteria are the key factors in the selection of textbooks in the social studies.According to the results of this study, it is recommended that schools can make assessments of future textbook selection in the social studies based on the results of this study.
