Lao Tzu's Tao te Ching is an ancient classic of the philosophy of life that spans years. The thought of “Tao” in caring for life enlightens personal cultivation with the detachment of mind and empirically practices the wisdom of the mind. Understanding Lao Tzu's philosophy may obtain many principal inspirations in life practice. Lao Tzu takes “Tao” as the basis of the detachment of mind to reflect on life and care about the cultivation of life situation. The conduct of life is based on a natural and inactive detached mind which is shown bodily, mental, and spiritual. In other words, Lao Tzu showed practical behavior in the state of Tao's chongxu. The paper uses Lao Tzu's “Tao of what is beneath nature” to explore the meaning of life in a natural and inactive way and to embody the way to empty your mind of all thoughts and let our hearts be at peace (Stephen Mitchell) as well as the way of cleaning our inner vision which is carried out by the thought of the detached and inactive mind, to achieve the state of emptiness and peace. Therefore, Lao Tzu advocated “stay soft and not fighting”, “having few desires and feeling fulfillment”, “returning to innocence” and abandoning the desires and lies. Through the work of “loss” to eliminate your desires and biases and be in a natural and inactive mind to embrace the realization of life. Furthermore, through the awakening and enlightenment of nature, we can reproduce the detachment of mind to experience and feel the cultivation of presenting Tao with “nothing” in real life, which is the key to practice the co-prosperity and harmony of things. The “Detachment of mind” embodies the cultivation skills and proof of the works of the saints. One should cultivate in one's self and work diligently to be in harmony with “Tao” and spread to the family, the country, and the world to be in harmony with mysterious principles. Concerning the realm of people who work the same way as “Good at helping people”, “Last forever”, “Being worldly”, we can realize our own life as they did by returning to innocence and review ourself under a detached mind and keep it in a state of discipline which is bodily, mental, and spiritual. In this way, our mind in cultivation “Tao” would not deprave overtimes. Finally, through the cultivation of the detached mind, we can achieve the realm of “Tao” and enlighten our life.
