Nowadays, middle-aged women are facing the transformation of the old and new generations on the role of women in modern society. In the old generation, their marriages and children defined women, and they thought of their husbands as gods; in the new generation, women represent the upsurge of feminism and egalitarianism. Therefore, middle-aged women are struggling to balance their roles in family and work. This causes mental pressure, physical problems, and more stress in their lives. For middle-aged women to be able to cope with difficulty, they need to have a deeper understanding of themselves. The study employed qualitative interventional research and invited four middle-aged women to participate. We apply Jung's concept of the prototype, the ego, and the self in the design of our eight art courses. After the lessons, focus groups, in-depth interviews, and course reflections are used, and the whole process will be videotaped to record the student's self-awareness process in detail. Through the design of works, self-thinking, and internal dialogue during creation, participants can reflect on emotions and psychological awareness to have a better understanding of themselves. Moreover, the self-reflection and self-observation brought by sharing the works among participants have made art courses a medium of enhancing self-worth and establishing self-positioning. Having participated in the art class, the four middle-aged women repositioned their lives. They established a more positive self-image and self-worth in society and family through the courses. After facing negative self-perceptions and emotions in the past, participating in the art creation course led to positive self-positioning, emotional release, and self-awareness and understanding.
