This paper focuses on the training of volunteer tour guides. The research covers museum and volunteer tour guide literature, the history of the National Palace South, architectural landscape, outdoor art, tour guide services, and exhibitions, as well as a discussion of the training courses for volunteer tour guides, an analysis of interviews with senior tour guides, and the author's actual observations and experiences of participating in the initial training, advanced training, and assessment of volunteer tour guides at the National Palace South. During the study period, we collected data and documents to plan topics related to the interviews of volunteer docents and conducted in-depth interviews with 11 volunteer docents. We explored the training process of the volunteers and learned more about the content of the training courses, the actual situation of the guides, the preparation work, the sharing of personal experiences, and the valuable gains and suggestions of the volunteers. The interviews were summarized and analyzed from my own experiences and those of the volunteers, and explored how the volunteers could improve their expertise, knowledge, and interpretation skills, as well as the areas that could be further refined during the tour training process. The interviews are a rare opportunity to share the experiences of volunteers from various fields, and to gain practical advice. By compiling the data from the interviews, we can make appropriate suggestions to keep the tour service up to date. The above analysis shows that professional training of tour volunteers can help to improve the quality of touring activities and enhance the spiritual growth of the volunteers. By integrating the local environment and characteristics of the museum, guided tours can bring visitors closer to the museum, increase their interest and willingness to return, and provide a deeper understanding of art, culture, and historical artifacts. This study provides references for those who are willing to participate in tour guide volunteer service and tour guide training, and expects that the courses of volunteer training can meet the desire of volunteers for lifelong learning. |
