Abstract: It can be maintained that at the moment humanity lives in a period of remarkable transition. It is a transition from local via global toward glocal, from monocultural to multicultural. Transition is a creative process, which can produce not only collapses and threats, but also many interesting and challenging solutions to live and act in the society of the future. One of the most essential change phenomena is globalization, accompanied by regional and fragmentation. Globalization is leading to a situation where most of the societies in the world with all their aspects (economy, technology, culture, etc.) belong to a system having global interactions. Regional processes like the integration of Europe happen at the same time and they form an intermediate phase and a part of this process. Otherwise, fragmentation is from the strong desire to creative new independent nation-states. It is a part of the whole process of globalization and regionalization. Therefore, globalization is not only technological or economic process. Its cultural implications can hardly be exaggerated. Cultural coherence, multiculturality, and tolerance of difference will be ever more important issues to learn. Multiculturality in its different forms will increase in the future. Therefore, in this paper it is attempted to discuss what the contents of the globalization and its paradox are, how the globalization accompanied by regional and fragmentation is and what the possible alternative futures are.
