Abstract:	這是道士在晉升道長的階段所必須通過的儀式，這個儀式過程是以刀子來架一個高梯，晉升道長的道士必須沿著刀子構成的刀梯爬到最頂端，才算是完成晉級的過程。道教的道士團組織，其成員有：高功、都講、副講、侍香、引班等。其中高功是要由受籙的道長擔任，依據傳統規矩而言，道士若要受籙升為道長，則必須到龍虎山接受張天師的冊封，但台灣的道士採取了變通的方法，他們以「爬刀梯」的方法，來表示遙向龍虎山的張天師報告而受籙，不過也有些道士並不需要爬刀梯就可受籙。
