    Abstract:   打工度假是一種結合工作與觀光的新興型態旅遊方式,有別於傳統旅遊的固定天數與遊程,打工度假能邊工作邊旅遊,且停留在旅遊地的時間也較長,更能深入了解當地的人事地物。本研究以質性研究的方法,進行三個不同階段的資料蒐集,分別為第一階段-部落格文章分析;第二階段-深入訪談,透過滾雪球的方式,對八位曾經參與過打工度假體驗者進行半結構是深入訪談;第三階段-參與觀察,瞭解打工度假體驗者真正所獲取之成長經驗與技能。結果發現,大部分從事打工度假的受訪者介於20到30歲之間,大多認為打工度假是一種相當不錯的體驗學習機會,提供「做中學」的良好旅遊模式,在自我成長及心態改變與技能提升也皆有良好的獲得。分為以下幾點來說明:(一) 打工度假動機:個人利益(面臨人生的轉折、漫長假期的安排、回憶曾經美好的回憶)及享受人生意義(想要接受挑戰、增加自我知識的成長、體驗異國文化與生活);(二)打工度假參與過程中所遇到的困難與挑戰:專業能力的挑戰(對於工作專業知識的不足、語言能力的不足)、與人相處上的挑戰(國籍文化不同的待人方式、與相處者難以親近)及工作上的挑戰(角色轉換的期待落差、工作倦怠感的出現);(三)參與後的改變:個人成長與心態改變(個性上正面的轉變、更能有效得掌握時間、豐富了自我的人際關係、人生態度的調整、情緒調適、對於環境生態更加關心、更加獨立)及能力提升(專業能力的精進、工作體驗上的能力獲得)。
      Unlike traditional travels, working holiday has no certain schedule, and it combines tourism and work together that makes backpackers have enough time to touch and learn local culture with the depth of understanding. In this regard, this study taking qualitative study as methodology divides into three phases, as follows: the first is to explore related articles in blogs. Via snowball-sampling method, the second phase is to have a deep interview with eight experienced backpackers. Then, the final is to be an observer for understanding their growth on experiences, skills, etc. According to the result, it shows that most of workers are around 20-30 years old, and they think it is a good opportunity to experience values of “learning by doing.” Firstly, their motivation includes personal profits—for instance, facing turning point of life, arranging long holiday, and recalling good memories in the past—and the enjoyment of life, such as to accept challenges, to broaden self-knowledge, and to experience foreign culture. Secondly, difficulties and challenges are professional skills (for example, lacking professional knowledge of the work, language ability), human relationship, including different treatments and no close relationship because of cultural difference, and challenges of the work, above all, the gap between roles changing and tired feelings on work. Thirdly, changes after working holiday can be found from personal changes (positive attitude, mature and independent personality, good relationship with others, etc.) and abilities (working experiences and professional skills).
