基於作者過去在校園從事動物保護教育工作及培訓志工隊等良好的經驗，嘗試擬定以社區為中心，建立社區自主推動動物保護工作模式，並試圖以此模式為全台灣社區參考，以社區自主方式來解決台灣流浪動物的問題。因此，本研究目的是了解推動社區友善動物氛圍工作的模式，及呈現社區人與動物間的動態互動關係，探討以社區為中心的行動方法，並將此經驗作為現今區域性動物保護可能的創新解決模式。 本研究以行動研究為主要研究方法，自2014年3月至2017 年9 月底止，透過訪談、參與式觀察、田野記錄、反思記錄、行動參與期間團隊資料等工具，共歷時3年半，以行動研究進行社區探索、理解社區脈絡、建構社區友善氛圍、啟動社區自覺行動等四階段，共歷經四個完整行動循環。 作者透過本文梳理於社區推動友善動物氛圍行動的困境，及對於現今在地化社區工作進行反思。研究結果以呈現友善動物社區氛圍的建構歷程，並提出以下結論：一、推動社區動物保護工作應尊重在地的文化脈絡，進行跨領域的對話及合作。換言之，推動動物保護工作，必須尊重在地的文化特質，並因應社區需求，因此逐步建立友善動物社區氛圍及環境；二、生命自覺式的敘說方式，能重新影響居民看待自身與動物的關係；三、以社區為中心的自主性動物保護行動，需投入大量人力、資源，故仍需透過公部門的倡議及引導，並結合民間動保組織的力量，才能在社區自主解決動物問題。 In the past practices of stray dog protection in campus, we realize that the protection can not be limited in the campus; the stray dog will still be wandering to the campus as long as the strag dog problem haven't been solved in the community. This is the reason why we started these projects to extend our successful stray dog rescue and protection experiences in campus to the neiberhood community, Shanglin. We managed to create, so called, the “Animal Friendly Climate” which emphizes the life connection between human and dogs. This is also a community-centerd approach which is trying to explore their human-dog experience and to lift up to a positive life experience. My research method is an action research and the research period started from March 2014 to September 2017. We applied interview, participatory oberservation, fieldwork notetaking, meeting records, questionnaire, and other collected documents during the research. The action research contains four phases: community exploration, community self-awareness, climate creation, community autonomy building. The finding of the research has provided reflections on this project: 1. To promot the animal protection or stray dogs rescue has to starting from the understanding of the cultural context of the community and realization. We has to respect the way that the community dealing with their own issues and with a good community to come up with a solution that will transform their views on animal; 2. The narrative way of life experience is the foundation of expand personal experience to the love of animal in general. This is a technique to promot the self-awarnes of human understanding of the meaning of life and other species. 3. Community-based stray dog rescue has to put lots of effort on many aspects of the community. This can not be completed by the effort of non-governmental organization alone but also the governentmal action on the resourses and regulation.
